CORPUS CHRISTI - The Olive Garden has received a very welcomed upgrade both inside and out which has customers enjoying their dining experience in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The Italian restaurant has updated their main sign which can be seen on South Padre Island Drive as well as the interior and bar area.

When first entering the eatery customers will notice the updated seating as well as the addition of flat screen televisions which were not a staple of the Olive Garden in years past. In addition to the updated furnishing the restaurant has also added 3 new items to their already diverse menu.

Now at the Olive Garden now invites customers to try their breadstick sandwiches which come with a side of french fries. Customers will be able to choose between the Chicken parmesan or Meatball sandwiches.

Sitting down to sample these items was a good decision for this reporter in what was already a busy day of events. Both sandwiches offer a unique flavor worth sampling for anyone in need of a quick lunch or simply something different.

General Manager Jamie Bejarano was able to sit with us and talk about the new renovations that have taken place. “The remodel started on May 11 and by July 4 we should be completed,” Bejarano said.

“The color scheme as you can see is much more modern and the lighting itself just makes it more homelike and inviting,” Bejarano said. “We have also added the televisions to the bar area just making it overall more welcoming for everyone.”

The new additions to the Olive Garden certainly do offer a warm and welcoming atmosphere for both existing and new customers. “The response have been very positive and the guests are loving it, for the customers that have not been here in a month or so the change is like night and day,” Bejarano said.
