The City of Corpus Christi and Nueces County conducted an emergency operations drill on July 10th with local and state partners. The exercise was to provide emergency responders the opportunity to test response plans and coordinate across jurisdictions.

The exercise included Ben Garza Gym and Oveal Williams Senior Center as the main areas for participation along with the City of Corpus Christi Emergency Operations Center. The response tested included a mass fatality response to assess the capability and adequacy of agency plans to handle hazard identification, site security, contamination control and identify potential resources.

Partners are committed to conducting exercises like the drill done last week to be ready in the event of a variety of situations. When disaster strikes it is the hope of the city that these exercises will help first responders remain prepared for any situation.
