AGUA DULCE- With school starting in less than a week, new High School Principal Dr. Chris Daniels says he is more than excited for the school year.
Daniels was a former assistant principal at Alice Independent School District where he taught Advanced-Placement Geography for six years.
Originally from Washington State, he said he's lived in Agua Dulce with his wife and children. Two of his step-sons are graduates of Agua Dulce ISD and his seventh grader son attends the high school as well.
"I want to be a positive role-model for the community and the students," Daniels said. "I love kids, teachers and parents. I enjoy interacting with the students because it's a great time for them. They are finding out what kind of people they are going to be, what college they're going to and what kind of citizens they will be."
He said Agua Dulce ISD is developing a greater flow of involvement by students and can see that things are only getting better from here.
"Our band program is coming back after years of not being here, our athletics are getting better and we're working on our academic recognition," he said of positive changes the district will have.
"This is a team effort," Daniels said. "We will work on it together with walk-throughs, team building and workshops. I'm excited for the new year."
