With the new flu season underway, the Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District is providing flu vaccines at the Immunizations Clinic.
Noelia Rodriguez, Public Information Officer, said the Health District urges the community to get the vaccine.
"It's the best defense against the flu," Rodriguez said. "It is sage and it does help."
According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), everyone 6 months and older should get a flu vaccine.
The health district also provides the community with education on the flu and tips to prevent the flu such as hand washing, coughing in one's sleeve and staying home if you are sick.
The flu vaccines are available at the Horne Road Clinic located at 1702 Horne Road during their clinic hours Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The flu vaccines are also available at the Robstown Clinic located at 710 E. Main in Robstown. If you are interested in receiving the flu vaccine in Robstown, please call the main number at 361-826-7238 for an appointment.
