At a Special Public Hearing on TAPR – Texas Academic Performance Report, principals presented their academic achievements as required by law on annual review from the Texas Education Agency. 

Among those achievements, Tuloso-Midway Middle School presented a special recognition to one of their own

For the 4th year in a row, Coach Joe Green, has received the 100 percent Passing Rate for End of Course in Algebra 1.

Principal Adriana Tagle, commended all her staff, however, Coach Green stands out in this distinction for the 4th year in a row; Coach takes time with every student to assist them in achieving the skills in Math; he works 24-7 working through his lunch, before and after school, and even after softball practices. Students tease each other and motivate themselves by noting “you will not mess up Coach’s Record!” Coach Green was hired at TM in 1994. 

Also at the meeting, TMISD Board of Trustees, President Paul Mostella read a Resolution from the Board with a 7-0 vote, nominating Dr. Sue Nelson to the 2016 TASB Superintendent of the Year Award (SOTY).

The resolution and application will be submitted to the ESC Region 2 and on to TASB for final review and selection of finalist.
