American Airlines customers at Corpus Christi International Airport (CCIA) will soon have the opportunity to travel on brand new airplanes. Starting on February 11th, half of the flights currently offered by American at CCIA will be the new E-175. The new airplanes come complete with a “new car” smell, 12 First Class seats, 20 Main Cabin Extra seats and Economy seating for 44. Customers will also notice larger overhead bins in the E-175.
“It’s always nice when customers are getting an upgrade from what they’re used to,” said Kim Bridger-Hunt, the Marketing Manager at CCIA. “We’re glad that American Airlines chose Corpus Christi to receive some of the first of these new airplanes,” said Bridger-Hunt.
The E-175’s replace CR-9’s, which will still make up the other half of the AA service mix at CCIA. This transition is part of a larger effort by AA to get rid of smaller and older regional jets.
The first E-175 is scheduled to arrive at CCIA Thursday, Feb. 11th, at 11:49 a.m. Customers will begin to board the flight shortly after arrival, with the first departure scheduled for 12:20 p.m.
