The Banquete Baptist Church in Banquete, Texas will be holding their 2nd annual Spring Fest from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 19. It's a community event with games and food to be held at the church located at 5609 Highway 44 in Banquete.

Spring Fest will be free to the public to attend and to participate in the games that will be present. There will be food vendors selling different things to eat and drink. According to Pastor Dominic Rodriguez, the goal of the festival is to show the public what is out in their surrounding community as well as getting them to see what they have available in the church as well. The church was reopened in November of 2014 and has been doing as much as they can to get the public involved and connected with church and the community around them.

Organizations and businesses that have pledged their time to the event so far include the following: Bluntzer Fire Department, Bluntzer Fruit Stand, Camp Zephyr, Grace House, Nueces Cafe, Nueces County Emergency Management, Nueces County Food Bank, Nueces County Sheriff Jim Kaelin, Portland Powersports, Refuge of Hope, Texas Game Wardens, and the Women's Shelter of South Texas.

There is still time for anybody wishing to sign up themselves or their business to be a part of Spring Fest. For more information, please call the Banquete Baptist Church at (361)933-0592.
