On Tuesday, March 29, representatives from Flint Hills Resources presented HALO-Flight with a check for $15,000 to kick-off the fundraising efforts supporting the Mission of the helicopter air ambulance service.
Flint Hills Resources is the title sponsor of the annual “Flight of Angels” Golf Tournament to benefit the HALO-Flight. The tournament, now in it's 25th year is the largest fundraiser for the nonprofit service that provides the fastest means of emergency transportation for the surrounding area. HALO-Flight serves population of over one million people in an area of 28,000 square miles and has transported more that 17,000 critical care patients since its inception in 1987.
Due to their nonprofit status, HALO-Flight depends on this and other fundraisers every year to continue to provide their valuable services in times of need. The organization operates one base each in Alice, Beeville, and Corpus Christi and relies on the support of the communities and counties to stay open and ready 24 hours a day every day of the year.
