ROBSTOWN - The Corpus Christi Bay Outlets opened with a bang and VIP party to benefit several organizations.

"The Outlets at Corpus Christi Bay demonstrates that our area is continuing to grow as a great place to live and work, as well as to visit and shop," said State Rep. Abel Herrero. "The outlet mall in Robstown will certainly attract people from around the Coastal Bend and Texas, further strengthening our local economy."

Hundreds of people took advantage of the VIP and first weekend opening.

Family footwear retailer Rack Room Shoes was one of several dozen retailers to open its doors. Best known for its ongoing “Buy One Get One 50 Percent Off” promotion, the store offered a wide selection of brand name shoes for men, women and children at value prices in the new 5,500 square foot store.

“This is the first Rack Room Shoes store in the Corpus Christi area in some time, and we’re looking forward to playing an active role in our community,” said Regional Manager Manny Tarin. “The Outlets at Corpus Christi Bay is a great location for our customer, which will draw from both the local area as well as tourists traveling to and from the beaches, Kings Ranch, and visitors to the area universities.”

H&M also opened its doors at the Outlets at Corpus Christi Bay to give shoppers in the Robstown area access to the latest trends at the best prices. The new location will offer collections for ladies, men, young ladies, and young men to separate “store within a store” sections for accessories. This location will also carry the H&M Kids collection for newborns to 14 year olds.

Curbside, a food truck area, also opened with a variety of food selections to curb any appetite while shopping.
