The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) on March 24 (at 5 p.m.) will temporarily close the Alice Driver License Office for renovations. The revamped Alice office will feature upgrades designed to enhance customer flow and efficiency. The office is expected to reopen to the public in the second half of April.
During the renovation period, DPS is reminding customers that many Texans are eligible to forgo the trip to the office completely via online renewal of their license, identification card or change of address at www.Texas.gov. Customers can also renew by phone at 1-866-357-3639. The eligibility requirements for phone renewal and online renewal are the same. The fee is the same for online, in-person and telephone renewals. Note: Customers may renew their Driver License/Texas ID card one year early prior to their expiration date and choose a convenient time that fits their schedule.
If a customer needs to visit a driver license office, DPS is encouraging customers in the area to visit the Kingsville Driver License Office (at 725 E Yoakum Ave, Kingsville, TX 78363) or the Corpus Christi Driver License Office (at 3506 Twin River Blvd. Corpus Christi, TX 78410).
