Tuesday, July 24 – The Harte Research Institute (HRI) for Gulf of Mexico Studies at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites the Coastal Bend Community to join them in celebrating Discovery Channel’s 2018 Shark Week from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, at Brewster Street Ice House. Learn how to identify different shark species and the science behind shark tagging with the scientists from HRI’s Center for Sportfish Science and Conservation. A special meet and greet with the HRI researchers and shark-tagging demonstration will take place from 6-7 p.m. and a rerun of HRI’s Monster Mako episode will take place from 7-8 p.m. Sit back and relax on Brewster’s deck and tune in for a live showing of a new Shark Week episode from 8-9 p.m. There will be shark-themed giveaways throughout the night. Thursday, July 26 – The media is invited to check out the UAS Summer Institute on Thursday, July 26 from 3 – 4 p.m. The College of Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi offers the camp each summer to connect South Texas high school students to UAS technology and give them hands-on experience working with UAS equipment and software. Saturday, July 28 – The media is invited to stop by the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi College 101: Future Islander Conference on Saturday, July 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the University Center. During the daylong conference, prospective freshman will learn about the next steps toward becoming an Islander! Coming Soon – Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi, in partnership with Corpus Christi Concert Ballet and Corpus Christi Parks and Recreations, will hold the 19th Annual Bailando Dance Festival on Thursday, Oct. 4, through Saturday, Oct. 6.
