SAN DIEGO - Family of 31-year-old Issac Castillo confirmed he passed away at a local hospital Sunday due to injuries he sustained in a vehicle accident just east of San Diego.
According to Department of Public Safety Sgt. Nathan Brandley, Castillo was traveling east in his 2015 Ford F250 on Highway 44 near County Road 160 Saturday afternoon when he lost control.
Castillo went on the left side of the roadway, tried to overcorrect, crossed both lanes of travel, flipped several times and his vehicle landed on its roof in a ditch on the south side of Highway 44.
According to Brandley, Castillo, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the pickup as it flipped.
Castillo was alone in the vehicle.
He was transported to hospital via ground ambulance to the Alice hospital before being taken to a Corpus Christi Hospital via Halo Flight.
