Losing weight or just maintaining it, is not always easy.
But Alicians now have another choice with Snap Fitness, a new gym that's going to open this month on the east side of town.
“We are excited to announce that Snap Fitness 24/7 is coming to Alice,” said John Beatty, owner of Snap Fitness and other gyms in the area including one in Kingsville and Uvalde.
Beatty said what's unique about Snap Fitness is the Fitness on Demand.
“You can pick your own classes,” he said. “They have hundreds of classes you can choose from.”
Fitness on Demand is a computer screen members can search for specific classes for sculpting, toning and other workouts such as dumbbell, Xtrain or Transform.
Snap Fitness is located at 2521 E. Main St. in a shopping strip in front of Walmart. The fitness facility will be open 24 hours, 7 days a week for their members convenience.
Another feature that is sure to attract fitness goers is the MyZone, which monitors the person's heart heart and keeps a “scoreboard”. The belt is worn just underneath the breast plate and is set up to the member's phone.
The MyZone, exclusive to Snap Fitness, records the workout and keeps tabs on distance walked or run, calories burned, overall effort, among other data. The program is said to be 99.4 percent accurate.
“It makes working out fun,” Snap Fitness experts say.
The gym has a variety of cardio machines, resistance machines, free weights, state-of-the-art virtual training with personal trainers one-in-one or group and a clean club.
The gym is expected to open sometime in August and is in the previous Rue 21 location in front of Walmart.
