CORPUS CHRISTI - The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a one-vehicle fatality crash that occurred on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at approximately 3:45 a.m. on Highway 44 and Farm-to-Market Road 24 (Violet Road) exit, three and a half miles west of Corpus Christi in Nueces County.
The driver was identified as Ryen Raol Aleman, 25, from Robstown, Texas, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Preliminary investigation revealed a 2008 Nissan Altima, occupied by Aleman, was traveling west on Highway 44 and for unknown reasons, he veered off the right side of the roadway and overturned multiple times, striking the railroad tracks.
The driver was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash and was ejected upon impact onto the railroad tracks. DPS Troopers are further investigating the fatal crash.
