ROBSTOWN - All Mariachi students, Mariachi professionals and Mariachi directors are invited to El Cotton Picker Mariachi Festival on Saturday, April 13, in hopes of breaking the Guinness World Record.

According to Juan Jose Sanchez, event coordinator, presently the festival holds the record for largest Mariachi playing simultaneously, but it is not recognized by Guinness due to lack of extra video verification.

The attempt will be around 12:45 p.m. and will be free. Registration will happen at 10 a.m. and will be provided with a wrist band that will be used to enter the breaking attempt event.

The record breaking attempt and festival will be at the Robstown High School.

All K-12 schools (private or public) or academies students can participate University/college students and professional mariachi musicians Participants must play an instrument Participants must be in full Mariachi attire including sombrero (can be borrowed or personal). Extra sombreros will be on hand Must register on day of the event No age limit and partial or complete groups welcomed Must have a wristband to enter world record attempt The festival will be held from 9 a.m. till 6 p.m. For anyone who wants to attend the day along festival must pay a fee at the entrance.
