In wake of the rapid spread of COVID-19, the City of Orange Grove has taken steps to prepare for the possibility of infection by issuing a Mayoral Declaration for the City of Orange Grove. This declares a local state of disaster for public heath emergency for the next 7 days. The declaration can be extended for by the City Council if needed.
In addition to the declaration, City Council approved the following recommendations by the City Administrator:
*City Hall’s lobby will be closed starting 3/23 and remain closed for 4 weeks (Drive-thru will remain open and all business will conducted as normal. We ask that residents please bring their utility bill with them for payment at the drive-thru. Appointments will be made available if necessary.)
*Activating the City’s Emergency Management Basic Plan and declaring the City on Readiness Level III
*Asking city employees who feel/show symptoms of the flu/Coronavirus to self-quarantine at home for 14 days
*Temporarily use a video & telephone conferencing platform for Council meetings to allow citizens to participate from home, rather than in-person
*Follow the guidelines of the CDC for personal health, hygiene, and safety
