Corpus Christi —KRIS 6 News, the Coastal Bend’s most watched news, and Telemundo Corpus Christi will each air townhalls simultaneously to inform viewers of the latest developments of the Coronavirus impact in the Coastal Bend. Both broadcasts will include important and current information from Texas Governor Greg Abbott, State Senator Juan Hinojosa, Corpus Christi Mayor Joe McComb, Nueces County Judge Barbara Canales, Corpus Christi City Manager Peter Zanoni, Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health Department Director Annette Rodriguez, and a representative from Corpus Christi I.S.D.
KRIS 6 News and Telemundo Corpus Christi hope these special broadcasts will answer many of the questions our viewers have about the economy, jobs, the latest numbers of local coronavirus patients, and what the government is doing during this crisis. In addition, the townhalls will explain where people can turn for support and guidance in dealing with unemployment, mental health, and keeping food on the table. It is also an opportunity to learn what moving forward will look like from a variety of perspectives.
KRIS 6 News anchor Katia Uriarte will host the townhall in English on KRIS, KZTV, The CW South Texas, and KDF. Telemundo Corpus Christi anchor Nina Martinez will host the townhall in Spanish on KAJA.
