Robstown police said there appears to be no evidence of foul play in the death of a 48-year-old Robstown High School employee, whose body was found on campus early Monday morning by his co-workers.
Lt. Gilbert Gomez on Monday said cafeteria workers at the high school arrived for their shift at about 6 a.m. when they found the body of Rafael Trevino Jr. lying face down in the cafeteria. Robstown police and Emergency Medical Services personnel were dispatched to the scene, Gomez said, but were unable to revive Trevino.
No students were on campus at the time of the discovery, school officials said.
Gomez said it appeared that Trevino was alone at the school at the time of his death, adding that there were no signs of foul play. An autopsy is being conducted by the Nueces County Medical Examiner's office to determine the cause of death.
Trevino had been a janitorial employee with the district since 2002, school officials said.
