The Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra (CCSO) and Maestro John Giordano will present an evening with Metropolitan Opera star Frederica von Stade later this month.
The sixth and final concert of the orchestra's 64th consecutive season will include music by Rossini and Bernstein, along with selections from classical vocal literature and Broadway hits.
The event will take place on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 8 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi.
The final concert of the 2009-2010 season features one of the best loved Metropolitan Opera stars of our time, Frederica von Stade. An international superstar, Ms. von Stade wows audiences with her superior artistry, natural elegance and charisma. She will perform selections from classical and Broadway vocal repertoire. The CCSO will also feature one of Rossini's best-known works, "William Tell Overture," and end the season with the incomparable sounds of Bernstein's Symphonic Dances from the Broadway hit "Westside Story."
