Katie Allsup, a seventh grade student from the Calallen Independent School District, will appear as a featured vocalist and storyteller at the Noah’s Ark Festival in Aransas Pass this weekend.
The festival will be held at First Baptist Church on Saturday, beginning at noon. The church is located at 627 South Houston St. in Aransas Pass. Katie will join a cast of more than 30 storytellers and vocalists in a benefit for the church’s community assistance efforts.
Eight churches from the Coastal Bend are represented in the finale concert and storytellers. Katie is a member of Primera Iglesias Bautista of Robstown.
An afternoon of storytelling from 12 festival stages in the gym will begin at noon and continue until 4 p.m. Live music will also be at the event.
The theme of the event is Romans 10:17. A family ticket is $8, while individual tickets are $3 each. The price of admission to the concert alone is $3 and are available for the 5:30 pm concert, as well. Further details are available at shelteredsparrow.blogspot.com.
Anyone not able to attend, but wishing to donate to the benefit, may purchase an $8 family ticket, which will be given to a foster family through Open Arms Agency of Corpus Christi.
