Robstown police have issued an arrest warrant for an 18-year-old man wanted in connection with the April 13 hit-and-run of two Sinton residents.
Detective Sgt. Enrique Paredez of the Robstown Police Department said police have identified Ronnie Sepulveda as the driver of a black Nissan Titan that allegedly failed to yield the right of way to eastbound traffic on Avenue J and Third Street.
Police said the truck collided with a motorcycle driven by Hector Aguilar, 44, who was traveling eastbound on Avenue J with his son, Hector E. Aguilar, 18. The pair, both of Sinton, was returning from a trip to Laredo, according to the accident report.
The Nissan Titan was at a stop sign at the intersection of Third Street and Avenue J when it pulled out in the path of the motorcycle and another vehicle, according to the report.
The vehicle was able to avoid colliding with the truck, but the motorcycle, driven by Hector Aguilar, could not and the the motorcycle collided with the driver's side of the truck.
Both motorcyclists sustained numerous injuries when they were ejected from the motorcycle and landed on the roadway. Police said further investigation showed that the truck drove over Hector Aguilar as it fled the scene and failed to stop and render aid.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital and later released.
Witnesses have since identified the driver of the truck, Paredez said. The bond amount on the warrant is $25,000, he added.
Anyone with information on Sepulveda's whereabouts is asked to contact the Robstown Police Department at 387-3531.
