A tip from a local resident led to the arrest of two men who were allegedly selling drugs out of a local hotel last week.

According to Robstown Police Department reports, officers received information that a wanted subject was staying at the Robstown Motor Inn, located on Highway 77. Officers were able to confirm with hotel management that the subject, identified as Lauro Gonzalez III, 28, was staying at the hotel.

When officers knocked on the door of the hotel room, the door reportedly opened and officers observed three male subjects, including Gonzalez, with illegal drugs in plain sight.

Marijuana, pills, cocaine, scales, plastic bags and other drug paraphernalia were located on a nightstand in the room.

Officers also searched Gonzalez and found cocaine, heroin and $2,647 in cash on his person.

A second man, identified as Fernando Olivarez, 23, was found to be in possession of marijuana.

The third man was questioned and released without being charged.

Officers confiscated 16.3 grams of cocaine, 10.8 grams of heroin and 7.3 ounces of marijuana, with a total street value of $2,500 from the room, according to reports.

Olivarez was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana. He was transported to the Nueces County Jail, where he was held on $500 bond.

Gonzalez was arrested and charged with parole violations, two counts of manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. More charges may be filed at a later date, officials with the department said last week.

Gonzalez was transported to the Nueces County Jail and was held on $20,000 bond last week.
