A traffic pattern change along Up River Road that went into effect Friday will remain in effect for several months, said the City of Corpus Christi Traffic Engineering office.

Up River Road will be closed westbound of Deer Run Drive to McKinzie Road for the final construction stage of the Up River Road Bond 2004 Road Improvement Project, officials said.

At the same time, Up River Road will be open to two-way traffic from eastbound Deer Run Drive to Rand Morgan Road.

Access to Interstate Highway 37 will be available at Carbon Plant Road and Rand Morgan Road.

Access to Leopard Street will be available at Wildwood Drive and Rand Morgan Road.

Access to local driveways will be maintained throughout the duration of the project.

Traffic control devices will guide traffic through the construction site. Motorists should expect delays in this area and should seek alternate routes to avoid congestion, if possible.

Motorists are also advised to observe all construction warning signs and barricading for their safety and that of construction crews.
