Sister Mary Margaret Tipton Price was born on October 9, 1959, in Robstown, Texas, Nueces County, to the parentage of Rudolph Valentino and Clarice Tipton. She confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Rev. B. T. Cherry and united with Mt. Zion Missonary Baptist Chruch. She was a loyal member and active in the church where she served as a Youth Usher, Youth Worker with the Youth Department, a member and Secretary of the Fellowship Choir and Vacation Bible School Director.
Mary graduated from Robstown High School in May of 1979 and was a member of the first girls basketball team at Robstown High School where she played and “started” with her sister Machelle Tipton and her two cousins, Alicia and Rhonda Tipton and good friend Sista Villarreal. Mary was a member of the choir, track team, and a cheerleader at Robstown High School. Mary later graduated from the Career Center of Texas as a certified Medical Assistant in 2009. The motivational force behind her graduating as a medical assistant was her love for children.
She was United in Holy Matrimony to Victor Gordon Price, Sr. on December 1, 1979. To this Union, five sons were born. She was employed at the Lollipop Tree Day Care Center with Delia Aleman as her supervisor, director and friend, and with Calallen ISD with the food services department. She was called home on June 24, 2016.
Mary was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Bruce Allen Tipton, her maternal grandmother, Lilly Mae Johnson and her paternal grandmother Oma Edwina Tipton.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her mother, Clarice Tipton of Robstown, Texas, Victor Gordon Price, Sr. of Corpus Christi, Texas, five sons, Victor Gordon Price,Jr., Michael Lance Valentino Price, Marcus Austin Price, Christopher Samuel Price, Shenandoah Maurice Price all of Calallen/ Corpus Christi, Texas, two step sons, Oliver Price of Calallen/ Corpus Christi, Texas, Randy Price of Utah. Her siblings, Sybil Denise Tipton of Robstown, Texas, Riley Lance (Jamie) Stevenson Tipton of Austin, Texas, Jimmy Lee (Linda) Tipton, Sr. of Robstown, Texas, and Machelle Tipton of Corpus Christi, Texas, two aunts, Doris Gidrey of Conroe, Texas and Ethel Pauline Tipton of Robstown, Texas, five uncles, Johnnie Ray Johnson of Northfolk, Virginia, Kenneth (Kay) Aycock of Sugarland, Texas, C.L. Thorton of Houston, Texas, Richard Gidrey of Conroe, Texas and Roy Neal (Shirley) Tipton of Corpus Christi, Texas, Nieces, Nephews Cousins and a host of other relatives, friends and her church family.
A Wake Service and Visitation will be held on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel in Robstown, Texas from 7 to 9 p.m. Visitation also on Saturday, July 2, 2016 will be at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Robstown, Texas from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at which time the Funeral Service will be celebrated. Interment will follow in Robstown Cemetery.
