Homero G. Hinojosa, 68, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2008 in Richardson.
He was born in Robstown on Sept. 30, 1940 to Homero Hinojosa Sr. and Margarita G. Gonzalez.
He was a graduate of William Adams High School in Alice in 1960 and attended St. Mary's University in San Antonio and Instituto Tecnologico de Monterrey. After his marriage to Grace B. Laurel, he resided in Robstown, where he co-owned and operated Hinojosa Two Way Stop grocery stores. While in Robstown, he served his local community by serving as City Commissioner from 1968-1976.
He is survived by his wife, Grace; his children, Homer Hinojosa III, Margaret Hinojosa de Garza, Jaime Hinojosa and Major Javier Hinojosa, USMC; grandchildren, Mark Kamei, Grace Elizabeth and Sarah Rebecca Hinojosa; brothers, Arnoldo Hinojosa and Orlando Gonzalez; and sister, Gladys Garcia.
A Rosary was recited at Ramon Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 9, at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass was held at St. Anthony Catholic Church on Jan. 10, at 10 a.m. followed by graveside service at Memorial Park Cemetery.
