Morgan Groves, 77, passed away Sept. 1, 2011.
Morgan was born Oct. 21, 1933 to John and Nettie Groves in Albany, N.Y. His family moved to South Texas when Morgan was seven years old. Morgan joined the U.S. Marine Corps when he was 17 years old and served during the Korean War. Morgan spent the largest part of his career within law enforcement.
He owned Robstown Ambulance Service in Robstown in the late 1960s through the early 1970s, serving Robstown and the surrounding communities. During Morganís law enforcement career, he served as deputy sheriff, police officer and Precinct 2 Constable for Caldwell County.
Morgan was an avid golfer with a knack for telling jokes.
Morgan was diagnosed with Alzheimerís Disease six years ago and moved to Bishop, where he was cared for by his daughter.
He is survived by his three daughters, Fleta Dromgoole (Bob) of Falfurrias, Debbie Schonefeld (David) of Bishop, and Sherrie Gaines (Larry) of Calallen; sister, Rowena Smith of Thorntown, Ind.; along with numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sept. 5, 2011.
