Rolando "El Gordo" Juarez passed away Thursday, March 26 at his home in Sherman.

Rolando was born on the first day of July 1946 in Robstown to the late Celestino and Eloisa Sanchez Juarez. He married Isabel Garcia on April 23, 1989 in Denton.

He worked many years as a mechanic and also installed windshields. He was a member of Joshua's Crossing Church.

Juarez is survived by his wife, Isabel, of Sherman; six sons, Tony Juarez of Denton, Danny Juarez (Angela) of Slidell, Paul Juarez of Denton, Roland Juarez II of Moorhead, Minn., Santiago Juarez of Sherman, and Joel Juarez of Sherman; three daughters, Brenda Juarez of Denton, Sandra Mason (David) of Lake Dallas, and Rosie Juarez of Moorhead, Minn.; nine grandchildren, Scout, Tori, Anna, Legend, Chief, Jose Luis, J.J., Jose Manuel, and Khloe; four brothers, Raymond Juarez of Denton, Roman Juarez of California, Jessie Juarez of Sanger, Manuel Juarez of Carrolton, and Philip Juarez of Weatherford; one sister, Eloisa Juarez of Denton; numerous nieces and nephews; and best friends, Jose "Curia" Seballez and Kent Larson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Celestino Juarez Jr.

Memorial services for Juarez will be held in Sherman at 5 p.m. Friday, April 3, at Joshua's Crossing. Kent Larson of the church will officiate.

Another memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at the McKinney Street Baptist Church in Denton with Jose Mata officiating.
