The Tuloso-Midway girls basketball team traveled to play Victoria West on Dec. 19, winning the game, 50-45. The Cherokees jumped out to a 24-14 lead at halftime, before holding off West in the second half.
Victoria Galaviz led the Cherokees in scoring with 16 points. Cami Horman added 13 points, with nine coming off of three-point shots. Keely Coburn chipped in nine points in the win.
The Cherokees played another non-district contest yesterday against the Carroll Lady Tigers at home. Results for that game were not available as of press time. The Cherokees will continue their quest for a district title when they host the Lady Coyotes from Alice on Jan. 3. Tippoff is scheduled to take place at 6:30 p.m.
