The Banquete Bulldogs continued their hot streak, winning their third in a row, 35-8, against the Ben Bolt Badgers Friday night at Banquete.
Since their shutout loss against Orange Grove the Bulldogs have put on a clinic offensively and defensively averaging 44.3 points per game and allowing only 6.7 points from their opponents during their winning streak.
The Banquete running attack was in full force again as five different players rushed for touchdowns in the win.
Running back Steven Karabanoff ran for 137 yards on 10 carries accounting for more than half of the 260 yards acquired by the team's offense. In addition to that, Karabanoff also succeeded in kicking five point-after attempts.
Karabanoff has found the end zone five times in four games and has totaled 311 yards since the season began.
Also with five touchdowns is Jordan Hernandez, who scored the first touchdown of the game on a 17-yard touchdown run.
Shortly after, Jacob Harris scored a 28-yard touchdown run giving the Bulldogs a 14-0 lead after the first quarter.
Heading into the third quarter with the score still 14-0, the Bulldogs running attack continued to produce success in the end zone.
Karabanoff breezed by blockers and tacklers from 78 yards away to put Banquete up, 21-0.
Later in the quarter, Mikey Gonzalez found the end zone from 15 yards out giving the Bulldogs a 28-0 lead.
Pat Riojas only rushed for one carry in the fourth quarter for Banquete, but he made use of his 10-yard run for a touchdown.
With the win, the Bulldogs finish their non-district season at 3-1.
Banquete takes the week off this Friday as they prepare for their first District 32-2A game against the Bishop Badgers.
Bishop finished their non-district season winless at 0-4.
The Bulldogs will face the Badgers at Bishop Friday, Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m.
