Delgadillo Receives ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award

Dillon Delgadillo, of Corpus Christi, is a member of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock baseball team that has been recognized for its work in the classroom, earning 2020-21 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence honors.

This marks the fifth time in the past six years the Trojans have received the national recognition under head coach Chris Curry.

To be eligible, teams had to post a team GPA of 3.0 or above for the entire 2020-21 academic year. UA Little Rock posted a 3.285 cumulative team GPA during the academic season, finishing with a 3.37 in fall 2020 and a 3.196 during the spring semester.

72.2 percent of UA Little Rock's roster finished the spring competition season with a GPA of 3.0, coming off a fall semester which saw 83.3 percent of Trojans finishing at a 3.0 or higher and eight perfect 4.0 performances. As a team, UA Little Rock boasts a cumulative GPA of 3.295.

UA Little Rock was one of 94 Division I teams to earn the Academic Excellence honor and one of two Sun Belt teams to receive the recognition, joined by Arkansas State.

With about 9,000 students and 100 programs, UA Little Rock offers learning, research, service, social and career opportunities that can only be found at a metropolitan university located in Arkansas's capital city.
