Coming off their first loss of the season in their only home game, the No. 5 Brownwood Lady Lions rebounded with a pair of victories at the Seminole tournament Thursday.

The Lady Lions cruised past Denver City, 11-2, then Chyanne Ellett tossed her second no-hitter of the season in a 16-0 thrashing of Post.

In the victory over Denver City, the Lady Lions tallied two runs in the bottom of the first, second and fourth innings to go along with a five-spot in the third.

Brownwood finished with a dozen hits — two each by Ellett, who homered, Annie Gillispie and Ryleigh Dalleh along with one apiece from Aubrie Harris, Ashlynn Patteson, Ayanna Clemons, Landry Holden, Yisel Mendoza and Aubrey Holden.

Ellett finished with a team-high three RBIs trailed by two each from Gillispie, Harris and Patteson and one each from Dalleh and Aubrey Holden.

In the circle, Ellett worked four innings, allowing one hit with nine strikeouts. Auzzlyn Benedict tossed the final inning and yielded two runs on three hits.

Against Post, Ellett needed just 77 pitches to hurl a five-inning no hitter, striking out 13 and walking one batter along the way.

Brownwood, meanwhile, generated 14 hits — including four doubles and three triples — drew five walks and took advantage of a pair of Post errors.

Mya McDowell led the charge with three hits followed by two apiece from Gillispie, Harris, Patteson and Dalleh, and one each from Benedict, Mendoza and Karly Harper.

Dalleh’s four RBIs were a team-high trailed by three from Harris, two each from Harper, Benedict and Mendoza and one each from Gillispie, Patteson and McDowell.

The Lady Lions (7-1) resume tournament action Friday.
