Calallen's Bryce Burnett voted High School Athlete of the Week
Calallen quarterback Bryce Burnett had a memorable performance in last week's bi-district win against Zapata and was named the Caller-Times High School Athlete of the Week for Nov. 8-13.
Burnett was 7 of 13 passing for 114 yards and added six carries for 98 yards and three touchdowns as the Wildcats advanced to the Class 4A area round.
Burnett received 13,661 of the 32,783 votes cast, which was 41.6% of all votes.
Students can only be named Athlete of the Week one time per season, per sport.
Premont football player Andrew Christian was second with 9,356 votes.
Nominations are due each Monday by 5 p.m. and can be submitted through email at firstname.lastname@example.org, by messaging the Caller-Times through its Facebook page, or on Twitter @CallerSports. Please include statistics from the week's games and any pertinent information or honors.
Voting runs Tuesday through Thursday each week.
